Update June 2022

The Charity, like many others,  has faced very difficult times during the past two years , as we have been unable to fundraise due to the Global Pandemic. But as we approach June 2022, we felt it appropriate to update our supporters know what we have achieved despite these tough times.

We have supplied two digital tablets to the Wards, in order to allow patients to make contact with their friends and relatives awhen no visiting was allowed for so long, due to Covid regulations.

Specialist televisions have been provided in the Outpatient Department for the Children’s Audiology Clinic.

Our Elf distributing Xmas gifts and thanks to the hard working stato do the honours and pass the presents over to hard working staff members.

We have continued to provide  essential toiletry packs to those  patients arriving at Bridlington Hospital without any personal items.  At Christmas we were able to continue the tradition of providing presents for those patients remaining in “our”  Hospital over the festive period, albeit Father Christmas and his Helpers could not go round the Ward and we had to rely on our friendly Elf   to do the honours on our behalf.

Yet more “Helping Hands” have been purchased in the form of grabbers and shoe horns for patients who have undergone operations under the Orthopaedic Department, and we thank those who have made donations after being given these items.

We have a also managed to start a number of newer projects now we are in June 2022.

We have a wooden trough which has been provided by the “ Bridlington Men in Sheds” which we will be planting up and placing in the courtyard at the end of the main corridor which will join the hanging baskets already supplied.   We are so delighted to have had the help from the local Men in Sheds  it is a great partnership – thanks Guys

We have purchased an Acer tree which has  been planted in the same courtyard to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and which will enhance the appearance of the area and will be enjoyed by many working or visiting the Hospital.  We are grateful to Chris Hayes, the Hospital Chaplin, who has agreed to bless the tree and acknowledge the service the Queen Elizabeth II has given, and which is planned to take place on the 8th June – watch out for the update on our Social Media.

We have welcomed a new Trustee and new Committee members, but we would appreciate anyone making contact who would like to give of their time during fundraising events thereby making a contribution to the Charity’s efforts to support the patients attending Bridlington Hospital.  You may feel you could support us by providing a skill such as crafting, knitting etc and would like to join the “Friends”.  We would be pleased to hear from you.  Please contact us through our  form on the contact us page

You can ask us to phone you if you prefer
